Gap change in latest month: 440,082 – 3DS
Gap change over last 12 months: 10,566,604 – 3DS
Total Lead: 27,801,241 – 3DS
3DS Total Sales: 33,458,935
PlayStation Vita Total Sales: 5,657,694
The 3DS was the first 8th generation handheld on the market. It was released on February 26, 2011. The PlayStation Vita came out in December 2011 in Japan, and February 2012 in the rest of the world. The gap when the PlayStation Vita came out was 12.77 million units and has grown every month since then,
In the latest month the gap grew an extra 440,082 units in favor of the 3DS. The current gap at the end of August 2013 is 27,801,241 and is showing no signs of shrinking. Also over the last 12 months the 3DS has sold 10.57 million more units.

the 3DS don't need pokemon or MH4 to increase the gap week by week, pokemon and MH4 are just another way to kill vita forever... i think.
with MH4 and pokemon, gap will expand and ooooozze out the sides :P
These gap charts have to be so depressing to WiiU and Vita fans. A PS3/360 gap chart would be interesting or 7th gen for different regions.
