Sony Partners with New Indie Italian Studio - News

Sony has partnered with new Italian gaming studio Ovosonico. This is the first time Sony has worked with a studio based in Italy. The studio is developing "original, unconventional and artistically-crafted video games." The studio working with Sony Worldwide Studios Europe on a new IP.

The studio was formed by Grasshopper Manufacture game director Massimo Guarini. He has worked on Suda51's Shadow of the Damned and Ubisoft's Naruto: Rise of the Ninja.

"There has never been a better time to contribute to the growth of the video games industry," said Guarini. "Ovosonico aims to challenge convention, to push the boundaries further and expand our medium by delivering innovative, emotionally engaging games that deeply resonate with people."

"SCE Worldwide Studios Europe understands our vision and we are thrilled to partner with them," Guarini continued. "We strongly feel that they are the perfect partner for us."

"We’re incredibly excited to be working with such an innovative new studio as Ovosonico," said SCE Worldwide Studios Europe Vice President Michael Denny. "It is through working with creative minds such as Massimo Guarini that ensures that the best exclusive games are only available on PlayStation and we firmly believe that this relationship will result in something special. This is the first studio we have worked with in Italy and due to the growing talent in this country; we believe the first of many."

Good news, some of the most memorable moments in gaming for me this past generation was by experiencing PSN titles like Journey, Flower and the Unfinished Swan.
