NCsoft Record Breaking Revenue Due to Guild Wars 2 - News

NCsoft, the Korean publisher, released its fourth quarter 2012 financial results. The publisher posted a record amount of revenue and Profit. Revenue for the quarter doubled from ₩144,384 million ($133 million) the fourth quarter 2011, up to ₩283,353 million ($207 million). Profits for the quarter increased 498 percent year-over-year to ₩101,933 ($94 million).

Guild Wars 2 sales drove the record breaking quarter for the publisher. The game accounted for 45 percent of all the sales for the quarter. Lineage accounted for 24 percent and Blade and Soul 10 percent.

Korea accounted for 43 percent of the total sales when broken down by region. North America accounted for 25 percent and Europe 18 percent. Japan accounted for just seven percent of the total sales.

Good news. I still prefer Guild Wars 1 though - nothing can replace the Monk profession. :(

Well good for them, but i thought GW2 was terrible. I still prefer GW1 aswell. without a healer class the game just loses all sembless of strategy and teamwork on PvE.

I thunk $207 million is a typo. Is it supposed to be $270 mill ?
