Developer Almost Human has announced in a blog post that the Legend of Grimrock sold more 600,000 units in 2012. This is the studios first game and it was the top selling game on Steam in its first two weeks.

"And to sum up the year, we’re now proud to announce that Legend of Grimrock has sold over 600.000 copies!," read the blog. "We would’ve been happy with just one tenth of the sales numbers, so needless to say we’re very happy and the future of our company is secured for a long time."

Almost Human attributes the games success to the community. The Dungeon Editor lets users to create their own levels and mods and "Steam’s Legend of Grimrock Workshop has over 450 entries."

Conveniently leaving out that two thirds (400,000) of those sales were as part of Humble Indie Bundle 7, and that they seem to have received less than 50 cent for each of those.

Still, it's an achievement you can shake a stick at, congrats!

Well deserved. Feels like a 2012 version of Dungeon Master.
