Kickstarter Raised Over $83M in Pledges for Games in 2012 - News

Kickstarter has released its annual report for the year 2012. 2.24 million people pledged a total of $319.79 million. There were also 18,109 successfully funded projects. 570,672 people back two or more projects, 50,047 people backed 10 or more projects and 452 people backed 100 or more projects.

Gaming was the most successful category with $83 million pledged. The gaming category includes both video and tabletop games. 1.38 million people backed 2,794 projects. 911 of these projects were funded successfully.

Other noteworthy Kickstarter information given is that 17 projects raised more than $1 million. People in 177 countries backed a project, which is 90 percent of countries.

83million dollars what actual stuff has come out of kickstarter? This includes all that money which went to make the set of feminist videos against video games right? Great.

star citizen and elite are probably about $6m combined out of that total,i think broken sword was over a $1m,i wonder what the other big games were anyway i backed 4 games for about £80 in total,they'll arrive someday
