Temple Run Downloaded 2.5M Times in December 25 - News

Keith Shepherd, founder of Imangi Studios, tweeted that 2.5 million people downloaded Temple Run on December 25 across all platforms. One million people downloaded it for Google Play, one million downloaded it for the Apple App Store and 500,000 downloaded on the Amazon Appstore.
"Temple Run had over a million downloads on iOS, over a million on Android, and over 500k on Amazon on Christmas day. Crazy!" tweeted Shepherd.
Temple Run had passed 100 million total downloads across all platforms at the beginning of August 2012. 68 million had downloaded it for the Apple App Store and 32 million for Google Play.

I saw my niece and cousin playing this together at the New Year's Eve party. Didn't realize it was so popular. It's one of those platformers where it's more or less a QTE-esque type of game that simply asks to tap and swipe at certain moments. Seemed alright at best. The little ones seemed to really enjoy it though.
I wonder if the consider download the game because it requires an UPDATE a new download.
But is a free game isnt it?

to be happy about how many things are given away freely... I mean there is merchandise out there for Halo but you don't see Halo fans raving about how many copies of Halo4 were pirated as a good thing :D ohhh yeah will sell more Megabloks warthogs :D!
