by William D'Angelo , posted on 17 December 2012 / 6,203 Views

Square Enix has laid off part of its workforce at its Los Angeles studio as part of a restructure. No exact numbers were given on the amount of layoffs and it is not known which games that are in development have been affected, however it was let known that no MMO title has been affected.

"In order to ensure it is operating effectively, the Square Enix Los Angeles office has reduced its workforce," said Square Enix Senior Director of Public Relations Riley Brennan, speaking with Massively. "This was a difficult decision and we wish the best for those affected by these changes."

"The decision will not have any impact on the operations of MMO titles," Brennan continued. "Customers can expect those services to continue, including the upcoming launch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn."
