World of Tanks Release Date Officially Announced - News

Wargaming.net have today confirmed that World of Tanks, its free-to-play MMO that sees players taking control of tanks as they battle others across the world, finally has a release date.
World of Tanks will launch on April 12th, 2011 in Europe and North America after being in beta for just over nine months. The company reports that during the beta phases (some of which were closed beta) that the game attracted an "impressive number of players" that merged into "a strong and responsive community that helped the development team enhance and polish the game by providing valuable feedback and reporting issues."
“Our team has been working really hard to create a unique blend of action, strategy, simulation and RPG elements in World of Tanks, and now the moment all fans across the globe have been waiting for is right around the corner”, said Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming.net. “We are delighted to be finally announcing the release date for this ground-breaking title and invite all veteran players and those new to the game to enjoy tense and uncompromising armored warfare on World of Tanks battlegrounds”.
There's still time, however, to participate in the World of Tanks beta. People in North America can sign up here, while those in Europe can do so here.
