PS5 Ships 95.3 Million Units as of June 2026 - Sales
by William D'Angelo , posted on 30 July 2026 / 5,468 ViewsSony Interactive Entertainment in its financial results announced it has shipped 95.3 million PlayStation 5 consoles as of June 30, 2026.
With 95.3 million PlayStation 5 consoles shipped that means 1.6 million units were shipped from April to June. This is down 0.9 million (-36.0%) from the same quarter last year when 2.5 million units were shipped.
For reference, the PlayStation 4 had shipped 3.2 million units in the same quarter for a lifetime total of 100.2 million units shipped as of June 30, 2019. This puts the PS5 behind shipped PS4 units by 4.9 million units.

There were a total of 66.1 million games sold on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 for the quarter. This is up 0.2 million (0.3%) from 65.9 million during the same period a year earlier. Digital sales accounted for 82 percent of software sales.
There were 6.0 million first-party games sold across the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. This is down X.X million from 6.9 million a year ago.
There were 125 million monthly active users on the PlayStation Network, an increase of 2 million from 123 million a year ago.
Sony's Game & Network Services Segment for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, reported revenue increased 0.6 billion yen ($3.74 million) year-over-year to 937.1 billion yen ($5.84 billion), while operating income increased 54.1 billion yen ($0.34 billion) to 202.0 billion yen ($1.26 billion).

Following this our PS5 estimates have been adjusted up from 92.96M to 93.31M. We have the gap shrinking slightly from the previous quarter.
Hello, why you never adjust your Xbox sales data? https://www.gamesindustry.biz/analyst-game-console-shipments-expected-to-decline-195-to-339m-units-in-2026
According to S&P Global Xbox Series already sold around 37.5 million as of Q1 2026. Highly likely already 38 million now
I agree. It would be great if we got official shipment or sell-through figures from Microsoft. Given historical sales figures we shouldn't be too far off. US tends to be around 50% of worldwide sales for Xbox.

PS5 sales are really slowing down much faster than PS4 did...
At this rate, I'll be surprised if PS6 can even crack 100M
A 5-million-unit gap compared to the PS4 is not good at all. The crazy price hikes really hurt the PS5. Sony could have kept prices down by accepting slightly lower profit margins and making up for it through game sales, but they chose the worst possible approach. It will be very difficult for the PS5 to close that 5-million-unit gap.
It will get worse next year: My Forecast FY 2026 ($649.99; $899.99) = >7.9 million (1.6 + 1.2 + 4.1 + 1); FY 2027 ($749.99; $1,049.99, Disc version discontinued) = >2.5 million (0.5 + 0.5 + 1.2 + 0.3); FY 2028 ($849.99, Pro version discontinued) = >1 million (0.2 + 0.2 + 0.5 + 0.1)
PSN grew despite the insane FUD from the microslop aligned network
fraudsters "journalists" have lost both their credibility and ability to FUD
You mean the backlash? That was in july
Can it reach 100mill this year?!
Easily
It will be during Holiday 2026
It is only 4.7 million units away. In all likelihood it will do double that. We are looking at 105 million by years end. Next year is anyone's guess.
GTA6 and holidays coming, so yes
Kinda curious ajustments here are only made related to Sony reports and not of Nintendo.
Nop. The site change the Switch's sales numbers everytime Nintendo releases their sales report
I'm slowly starting to think that Sony have started to think about the importance of actual lifetime hardware sales, too.
I claim that there's been a time when they clearly wanted to sell as much as possible and even a tip further beyond it.
But that their goal could have clearly shifted away from that some 2 or 3 years ago first. And probably even more so within the last 1½ years.
I think Sony originally aimed to surpass the PS4 by at least 10 million units. And they could have done it.
But profit margins and global market circumstances attacking their profit margins stopped any initiatives selling as much hardware as possible.
It's lucky but a shame at the same time that the PS5 couldn't welcome GTA6 with 299-399 units, arguably be able to sell at least 5 million units more at its release.
