Killzone 3 Leaked onto Torrent Sites - News

by VGChartz Staff , posted on 13 February 2011 / 6,645 Views

Joining Crysis 2 on the piracy train is Killzone 3 today. A little more than a week ahead of its February 22 release date, the European version of Killzone 3 has started appearing on the torrent sites.

If you have plenty of time and no scruples, you too can be the not-so-proud owner of an illegal copy of the game, weighing in at a hefty (and hopefully pirate-deterring?) 41.4 GB. There is a non-3D-enabled version of the game as well, and that file is only about half the size. It requires a hacked PS3 to play.

Honestly, it's not like there's even that long to wait. Sony is aware of the leak, and downloading either version is not a good idea if you value your freedom. The game is garnering some pretty good reviews, so how about you wait a week and give Guerrilla Games the money they rightly deserve, yeah?

@kain_kusanagi the example you gave isnt the same, what would be is if a news media announced that people can kill people with very little chance of being caught on tuesday, so if anyone wanted to kill someone, they should kill someone on tuesday, because thats the best day to kill someone, which would get them in big trouble

@Rath i totally agree, news should be published on a news site, but people shouldnt be angry at pirates alone, people should also be angry at the people who are enabling the pirates.

if yore here posting "GOSH DARN THOSE PIRATES!" maybe you should change your attitude and quit clicking on the links that talk about pirating games. if pirating doesnt sell it wont get posted

The words of Hackers and people who think they are hackers, " Leave us Hacker be, all we want is homebrews and to open up the potential of the ps3. We want our otheros is that so bad??." What they should have said is, "HAHAHAH I want to jailbreak my PS3 so I can play pirated games because i have no use for otherOS and who the hell wants to play SNES emulators when I can play the next gen games for free."
If this shit keeps up, no developers will want to make games for the PS3 and then the platform will just be a bluray player with online access. In light of all this piracy and cheaters since the ps3 been jailbroken, anyone else still want the PS3 to be hacked??? Bunch of morons.

@ cory.ok

Don't blame VGchartz for posting news. Is it the fault of the news media if a serial killer kills to watch his crimes on the news? No. News happens and the media reports it. The whole point of all journalism is to tell the truth and report events as they are.

The people who hacked their PS3s to play pirated games probably search all the torrent sites everyday looking for the newest pirated games. They don't wait for VGchartz to post a story about it.

P.S. I'm not comparing serial killers and pirates. It's just an extreme example.

A good news site (which I'm not saying Gamrfeed is) should publish news just because it is newsworthy.

it may be gaming news, but it puts vgc in the same boat as the pirates both are hurting game developers for their own gain

its gaming news, and i guarantee you anyone with a freaking hacked ps3, who is stealing games already knew about this.

what the hell are you thinking?
you are just giving pirates information.

stop acting like you dont want people to pirate the game, and then give them the information to do so.

Oh come on.
Why an article over this? YOu're only helping the pirates to get informed.

WTF is going on in the Quality management on VGchartz lately? The recent articles are craptastic to say the least.

with my internet speed and my 25 gb monthly cap (over 1 dollars per gb after)

it's going to cost me MORE money to download this than just to buy it

so i will just buy it

now... if only this is out for xbox and 8gb limitation. ;)

@voty2000 pirates dont have a bat signal that tells them when cool torrents are put up, they rely on the same media that you and i do to figure this stuff out

voty2000 (on 13 February 2011)

Pirates knew of the torrent way before VGC posted it. Folks don't come here for torrent leak news.

I'm stunned that this site would openly pubicise 'stories' of this type, spreading news for potential pirates.

Shame on you, VGChartz.

While I support your comment about giving GG and Sony the money they rightfully deserve - websites such as vgchartz also don't help in reducing the rate of piracy for games by making articles about them. It's great Sony is aware of the issue, and will catch anyone with the biggest set of balls in the world to even consider downloading this during the legal battle they're going through as of late.

Here's hoping people have the decency to purchase the title as it rightfully deserve it in every aspect. I can assure all of you that GG will be receiving $146 from me on day 1 for the Helghast Edition.
