I really cannot understand why the f**g fk Xbox Series numbers collapsed so soon. I really can't.
Series, to me, is the best Xbox, and a fantastic console. More technically robust and better built than PS5 (at least, the original PS5 model)

Started moderately strong in the market, but since a year ago, around october-november, that machine has been failing to get a momentum and it's totally dying, I do not expect 2 more years of Series, 2025 will be its last year: No way this machine can ever get 40 million sells, ever. What a shame.
I know it never had 100% exclusives regarding to the PC platfom. But the Game Pass was so excellent,... I thought the "no exclusives" would get little impact on its sells. I suppose I was wrong.

Maybe has no real or little correlation, but... the start of its decline coincides with the launch of Starfield: the adventure that supposedly had to be its "rival-killer game"... to finally end as a popular flop and a massive disappointment to many players and the general audience. Maybe the brutal hype Starfield had during many months (it was totally insane) and the final product... really killed something in the end... the Xbox Series' credibility and future. Maybe.

We'll see how MS manages Series next year... but man, that console is totally dying, no doubt. Too bad.

Well I think mostly what happened is that people just got sick of waiting for them to turn things around. The PC releases didn't help I know that for a fact but I'm not sure how much damage was done by that move.

As far your first point I honestly don't thin kit matter. More technically robust and better built mean exactly 0 to me. I think the Series X looks fantastic, the last time I used an Xbox the UI was 10x better. than what Sony is doing. The issue is I don't buy consoles for fancy UI's and to have pretty hardware in my house. I want good games and Xbox has just been failing to deliver there. It doesn't help that on top of that they have other devs just skipping for no reason. Now they've done a great job at fixing that issue now for the most part but it's to late.

Yup. Just wait until next year, it'll be great, got old a long time ago.
Consoles only really mean something if there's enough great games.
Words are poor at selling things in general. Actions work much better.

Sick of waiting? Waiting for what? Game Pass had excellent material for its users at a great price.

About third parties, with the buyout of ABK, MS now has a huge number of good developers (maybe, even too many studios: Personally, after seeing the last 2 years, I will disband Bethesda to put its better workers into other studios) and now MS own new huge franchises they can now use the way they want. But obviously MS have to monitor better what happens with third parties and act accordingly and fast when something strange happens: it's very fishy how some games appeared in PC but not in Series, when they are basically the same architecture. That follows no natural logic, so, obviously, someone "did a move" there.

In any case, MS should react and show a nex-gen console as soon as they can if they want to continue in the console market. Being probably a simple PC based console, this will not be very difficult to do, and would be much more interesting for users than a classic Pro revision.

About being more "robust": I do not know the new models, but the original PS5 had many problems with its "liquid metal" as a thermal paste, and some new PS5 even had technical issues. The reason was the rush development PS5 had.

I think you said it best in your first post. You can't understand why the Series S/X is doing so badly. You're enjoying the system and that's fine but when you compare it to the competition the consumer has spoken and they prefer PS.

IMO that's because of the software and the years of Phil saying I know we need more games and talking about the steady cadence. Phil said this back in 2022 so even Phil agreed they had an issue with steady good software. If you disagree with Phil. me, and the consumer well maybe you need to step back and realize you might have a bias that is stopping you from seeing what's going on.

MS really doesn't need to do anything other than what they are already doing. Start to push their software everywhere and focus on expanding beyond the console. There is no winning in the console space or any chance for them to grow. They've accepted that and will continue to release a console for those who want it while they focus on trying to expand their MAUs elsewhere.

I would think it's a horrible idea to give the current users they have on Xbox the ability to start to build a library on Steam and eventually just leave for PC with that library. Keep it Xbox so you can keep them in GP and buying off the Xbox store.

XD No. I will not "contradict" Phil Spencer XD. He did a fantastic job for MS buying ABK, a fantastic move.

I'm only saying maybe next year it's time to announce a new generation, and also time to kill Xbox One, a legacy machine by 2025.
