The main appeal of the game were the interactive choices. Without that you have the most generic teen horror flick. Sandberg makes kinda meh films so this is likely going to suck.

And said generic teen horror flicks can be dirt cheap to make. That Megan film cost Blumhouse only 12mil and pulled in nearly 180mil.... maybe they should have got Blumhouse to work on it.

I don't think it follows the games closely anyways, so it wouldn't matter tbqh.

As long as it's a fun watch that's really all a horror film needs to be these days

Sadly most modern horror films are trash and not a fun kinda trash like Friday the 13th. It's just loud noises and jump scares. Plus a lot of modern ones don't est their rules. The Nun just did whatever the fuck it wanted. Even schlock in the 80s est rules. Nightmare on Elm Street had rules. If a jump scare happened it was sparingly and it followed up with a threat chasing someone. Sometimes we had the cliche of just a cat which was lame. At least it wasn't every shot that something was going to pop out is a flat shot dead center frame followed by long pause of silence then AAAH! LOUD MUSIC AND A GHOUL! It's so dull. Chopping Mall is better made than most big budget hollywood horror films these days.

They should have released the fully fixed remake of the game in March 2025... it released in horrible state earlier this month!

When they eventually release this digitally for rent, I wonder if it will require you to sign into PSN...
