Being only 2.05m units behind PS4 globally, despite 'insert all setbacks since 2020', is actually quite impressive.

I am quite certain though the PS5 won't have another full year without losing more ground.

IF it actually is an internal goal for Sony to surpass the PS4, then they'd be well advised to take some actions.

Ofc, they know that.

For the Playstation brand however, the next 6 months shape up to be potentially very important in terms of announcements.

And this is why Sony and Nintendo see no need to do what Microsoft is needing to do to sale their games. It's crazy how competitive this generation started off as, just to see where it's at now.

Honestly, the PS5 and Xbox Series platforms have been the most disappointed I've been in a generation.

This generation was never competitive in any front. Both lineups sucked immensely but Xbox was somehow even more lacking than PS and the only reason there was any system parity was PS5 production woes. Neither deserved to sell half of what they did.

The first year of this generation was definitely competitive, especially on the sales front. Games were fairly lacking but there was Halo Infinite, Returnal, Ratchet and Clank, Demon's Souls and Forza were good to start with. Just the years since have been lacking.
