I hope it's as good as Sonic Mania.

Doubtful. That would be nice though.

First Sonic game in a while that interests me. Wish it had online co-op though.

Designing this around co op seems like a bad idea, aside from that it looks potentially interesting

Looks promising, don't mess this.

Looks fun. I can't really see multiplayer working well. Really not sure about that price though. I think Sonic Mania launched at about 20 and Mega Man 11 at 30. I'm not automatically against paying full price for a 2D, but I wonder if this is offering enough to justify that.

There is precedent with NSMB Wii, NSMBU, Kirby RtDL, and Kirby Star Allies. All of these were full price 2D retail platformers, with all but Star Allies having their main story around 8 hours long (Sonic Mania and MM11 were more like 5 hours each).

Make a dozen zones' worth of level assets, make 3 acts each instead of the usual 2 (assuming they can make that many stages of content from a Zone of assets), make the characters play differently enough to make multiple playthroughs worthwhile, and include modes like Time Trials, multiplayer VS, etc, and I think it'll be worth full retail price.

Don't really think the Kirby games should have been full price either, at least not at launch for the Kirby games. We'll see if this has more content than other 2D Sonic games.

Unless it's being created by the same exact team, it probably won't. Hopefully, it'll be good though. The world (or at least MY world), needs 2D Sonic.
