Publisher Nintendo and developer Intelligent Systems have delayed Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp from December 3 release date to spring 2022.

"Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, which was set to launch on 12/3, will now release for Nintendo Switch in spring 2022," said Nintendo via Twitter. "The game just needs a little more time for fine tuning. You'll be battling with Andy & friends soon! Thanks for your patience."

I had a feeling this was coming since there hasn't been any additional news or updates about the game, which Nintendo looooooves to do for games releasing in the near future. I was completely expecting to see an update during the last Direct, but no showing. So kind of expected.

I cannot wait to play these games again!!! The first 2 Advance Wars were masterpieces of turn-based strategy with an amazing story and characters!

Does anyone else think this has something to do with the GTA trilogy? It just seems strange that the physical release of that is around the same time and now they delay it.

Could be a coincidence. But I wonder if Nintendo thinks it would get buried this year. Spring is always less busy. I don't know if I'll be getting it or not, but I had forgotten about it. I played 2 and DS so I'm interested.

How about localize a Famicom or super Famicom wars for the online this year? That would be a nice consolation.

Not really. The games have very different target audiences.

Idk. I'm interested in both. The target audience of both are people who play games.

Advance wars is definitely more niche being a turn based strategy game, but even the GTA trilogy is a bit of a deep cut given the fact that they're older games without the current online play of gta5.

That's all beside the point though. I'm talking about from a news perspective. Everyone will be talking about two things in November and December in terms of the switch. Pokemon diamond/pearl and GTA. I don't need to explain Pokemon, but GTA will be newsworthy due to being the first main line GTA games on a Nintendo console. And they delayed it the same day rockstar announced the release date?

It's probably a coincidence. But it certainly makes me wonder.
