PS4 Total Sales: 21,955,795

March 2021 is the 49th month that the Nintendo Switch has been available for. During the latest month, the gap in the US between the Switch and PlayStation 4 grew in favor of the PS4 when you align launches. The PS4 sold 624,956 more units than the Switch in the last month. In the last 12 months, the Switch has grown its lead by 3.98 million units. The Switch currently leads by 6.37 million units.

The PS4 launched in the US on November 15, 2013, while the Switch launched on March 3, 2017. Therefore, the holiday periods for the two consoles do not lineup, which is why there are big increases and decreases.

The 49th month on sale for the Switch is March 2021, while for the PS4 it is November 2017. The Switch has sold 28.32 million units, while the PS4 sold 21.96 million units during the same timeframe. The PS4 did not reach the current Switch sales until month 63 where it sold a total of 28.41 million units.

The PS4 has been available for 89 months in the US and has sold 34.73 million units. The Switch is currently 6.41 million units behind the lifetime sales of the PS4.

Switch will outsell PS4 in US this year no doubt btw I love what you did to the console sale chart

600k gap change November ( the best month for sony in USA) vs March, and one year of adventage, Swith are gonna reach 40 million just in USA so easly

This comparison isn't even interesting anymore. What I'd like to see is Switch vs PS4 Europe. I'm sure PS4 is higher, but it would be cool to see how close Switch can come.

Unless Nintendo or 3rd parties put some serious effort in now, Switch isn't going to catch PS4 in Europe. A quick look at the charts I believe the PS4 was just over 30 million at month 50, Switch is around 8 million behind and only just keeping pace with PS4. After this year if Switch doesn't drop too fast it may be able to catch up a little, but I would guess around 45 million being it's optimistic end-goal (whereas PS4 should just scrape over 50m)

not interesting regardless, PS4 is a console to play on TV, Switch also on TV, Lite without TV ... lol
