Fun fact: Robinson Canó was named after Jackie Robinson.
Years ago I predicted this would go multiplat, but I didn't anticipate Sony would still own it when it did. According to the Xbox Store its being published by MLB.
Its unlikely they would take the license away from Sony considering Sony doesn't seem to have it exclusively. 2K had it but likely gave it up due to poor sales even as a multiplat. Then you have to consider MLB has been putting out RBI games on every platform, mobile and PC included.
My logic was MLB The Show simply doesn't sell well enough and has critical acclaim, so something has to happen. I thought maybe 2K would give Sony a bunch of money take over, because it was difficult to imagine Sony would actually be developing for Xbox.
Do I believe MLB encouraged Sony to go multiplat? It seems likely. I mean keeping this franchise exclusive might appeal to Sony more than the increased revenue. But making more money is also a benefit for Sony.
You would think a PC and Switch port should happen. But its possible they focused on the platforms they felt are most important at launch. Late ports isn't new for PC and Switch.
Late ports don't really work well for annualized sports games. I could be mistaken, but I don't think late ports happen for these type of games unless they are tied to a console launch.
You are probably right. But I was thinking a few months perhaps. Assuming any work has been done on other potential ports.
As mentioned already, more platforms were supposed to get support.
