Gal Gun Returns Cancelled for Xbox One

Gal Gun Returns Cancelled for Xbox One - News

Developer Inti Creates has cancelled Gal Gun Returns for the Xbox One " to ensure consistency of experience across all platforms." This follows a discussion with Microsoft.

"Today we would like to announce that we will no longer be releasing Gal Gun Returns on the Xbox family of consoles," Inti Creates said in the full message.

"As a remaster of the original Gal Gun, we wanted to strive to ensure that we stayed true to the spirit of the first entry in the Gal Gun series, and while development of the Xbox version was complete and the master ROM under review, it became apparent, after productive discussion with Microsoft, that we would be unable to ensure consistency of experience across all platforms.

"As a result we have decided to re-focus attention to Nintendo Switch and PC for the upcoming release of Gal Gun Returns.

"We understand the disappointment from everyone who was looking forward to playing the game on Xbox One, and would like to thank everyone for their ongoing support.

"Please accept our sincerest apologies for this change in the planned release. We hope you enjoy the Gal Gun experience on other platforms.

"We look forward to continuing working with Microsoft on other PQube releases going forward."

If Microsoft was expecting to improve their position in Japan, following the censorship wave Sony started is not the way to do it. Good on Inti Creates for not caving in.

Good on them for not caving to (what I'm sure we can safely assume) censorship. If only more developers/publishers showed some backbone on this topic.

I'm not suggesting they did this for attention, but this game is getting a lot of attention solely for being cancelled on Xbox. Otherwise this would be a game nobody really talks about.

Hmm ... this would've been a good opportunity for Microsoft to teach Sony a lesson on censorship. I suppose not. Sony of Japan needs to take action and move PS headquarters out of California.

If anything, Microsoft is probably more conservative than Sony. What would moving SIE HQ out of California accomplish in this case?

I agree. Microsoft missed a chance to get Sony on this particular instance. ^ Probably OP says that is because California is soft. Probably the softest and weirdest state in America. It's no coincidence when Sony shifted SIE headquarters in 2016 to California, all this arbitrary censorship on Japanese games started to occur. Moving SIE headquarters out of California would accomplish a lot for Sony, perhaps even gain back the goodwill of certain Japanese devs instead of stifling their creative freedoms.

I would love to see PS HQ out of California and back in Japan. I can't even tell you...but that's not happening.

I wouldn't want this game on my platform anyway

If I were a platform holder I probably wouldn't want to be associated with this game and would have done the same.

Good. No need for porn on consoles. I don't understand how games like these are legal. Those girls look underage.

It's legal because freedom of speech is important, and we can't make things illegal simply because we don't like them. Microsoft can allow or not allow whatever they like on their platform, but there needs to be a VERY high bar before making content illegal. If someone could show that games like this lead to actual child abuse, then it might be justified.

If we allowed this content to be banned entirely, it would be incredibly hard to justify games like GTA or any other games that allow you to engage in virtual criminal activity.

Your definition of porn is quite weird... But that's how think the retarded jackass who censor games and who've never seen a girl in their lifes.
