Sony launched its next-generation console - the PlayStation 5 - with a staggered release earlier this month. The console launched first in North America, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and South Korea on November 12, followed by Europe and the rest of the world a week later on November 19.

Based on preliminary data VGChartz estimates that the PlayStation 5 sold between an estimated 2.1 million to 2.5 million units worldwide when you combine its two launch days.

The $499 PS5 proved to be far more popular than the $399 PS5 Digital Edition, with over 75 percent of the total estimated sales.

Cool! So PS5 possibly matched or exceeded the PS4 launch sales record in the UK (or slightly below it).

So probably sitting somewhere between 2.5 million and 3 million right now. Friending on how many they got back to the original November 12th launch countries got their 2nd week.

Thought at first this was Nov 12 sales alone which seemed completely ridiculous, but combining the two launch days makes those sales more believe, even if still insanely strong.

*GamesIndustry Has confirmed Sony PS5 not only had the biggest launch in PlayStation history, but PS5 had the biggest CONSOLE launch in history. It's been confirmed that PS5 surpassed PS4's console launch in which the PS4 previously held that record. Insane Sony. Utterly insane.

So we'll get an update soon but due to the staggered release, ps5 would be between 1.2 and 1.7 mil. Wonder how much Ninty shipped this week. Probably not gonna beat ps5 and XseX but possibly could for the week after release of both consoles and of course the rest of the holidays
