The Elder Scrolls VI Won't Be Coming Until After Starfield - News

It was nearly two years ago when Bethesda Softworks announced The Elder Scrolls VI with a teaser trailer at E3 2018. Since the teaser trailer very little about the game has been released.

It now appears the game is years off as Pete Hines, Bethesda’s president of marketing, responded to fans via Twitter saying the game will release after Starfield, which is another game that was announced at E3 2018.

"It’s after Starfield, which you pretty much know nothing about," said Hines. "So if you’re coming at me for details now and not years from now, I’m failing to properly manage your expectations."

Bethesda Softworks has been focused on more recent releases, including the Fallout 76: Wastelanders update, Doom: Eternal and Wolfenstein: Youngblood.

Funny, it's as if I've read this a long time ago already. I wonder why...

At this rate we'll all be retired by the time this ever comes out.

Sucks that it's locked to the same damn engine of all things.

It'll be a year or two after Starfield drops at least.

They should have given up on Fallout 76, and started work on Starfield/ESVI already.

Why are games being announced so early though?

We can expect this to release by the end of the next gen life cycle

A gap of more than 10 years is too long within a game series. Between Oblivion and Skyrim we had 5 years. Is Bethesda so small that they can't work on two games simultaneously (Starfield/TES VI)?

Wow... so I guess 2022 the earliest? I doubt it will make it by then, so 2023-24 more likely IMO.

Bethesda have been pretty good at revealing games and launching them within the same year so I think Starfield is a 2021 title and elderscrolls a 2023 release.

They have to remind us that this still exists. This is vaporware title that depends on other vaporware title to release.
