Analyst: First Proper Next Generation Showcase to be Held Much Earlier With E3 Cancelled - News

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) cancelled E3 2020 in March and very quickly many video game companies that were set to attend announced they would be holding digital events instead.
Senior video game industry analyst at Niko Partners Daniel Ahmad took to Twitter to announce many of the reveals and announcements for E3 have been moved out of that single week. He says the first proper next generation console and games showcase will now be held earlier than originally planned.
"With E3 cancelled, a lot of the planned reveals / announcements have been moved out of that single week," said Ahmad. "Some are now much earlier, others much later. Some still during E3 week [of course]. The first proper next gen console/games showcase is much earlier too."
The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 are set to launch in Holiday 2020.
With E3 cancelled, a lot of the planned reveals / announcements have been moved out of that single week.
