The Last of us on PS3 had 5 Editions. Joel, Ellie, Survival, Post-Pandemic and the standard edition of the game.

I’ve said it already, but I think not releasing this at the launch of ps5 to match XBO’s Halo 6 launch is a big mistake. XBox has been doing almost everything right, and I strongly suspect Halo 6 will be a huge game. Will have had 5y in development when released, and no Halo has been given more than 3y.

I'm sure there will be plenty games at the launch of PS5. The Last of Us 2 belongs to PS4.

Although launching with PS5 would obviously be a solid tactic, I think you underestimate the value of establishing consumer loyalty, respect and trust before next gen has even begun. Why wait until launch before you start competing? Late generation games like GOW, Death Stranding, FFVII, TLOUII are going to inform people's decisions on what console they pick, even before the consoles have even officially been revealed. People's decisions are not decided on launch day, they're decided over long periods of time, gauaging which platform holder more frequently and reliably delivers the experiences they want to play. THOU2 will of course still be a massive selling point for the PS5, whether it be through upgraded BC, a PS5 exclusive Patch or by a physical/digital port.

Alongside THLOU2 the PS5 should have an actual exclusive support it at launch.

Yikes, early 2020 is going to be nuts.

4 Edition has been the new standard in a lot of big games. Not sure what these Editions consist of however. Usually you have the standard edition, some sort of deluxe edition, an online deluxe edition, and some over-the-top collectors edition. We'll just have to wait for more details.

I find it unnecessary. I usually put a big rock salt on rumors, but Zhugex at least is someone we usually receive good intel from.

Hmm not entirely a fan of multi editions. I think a Standard and a deluxe is enough. For collectors this will be an expensive annoyness.
