E3 2009: Capcom Unveils Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars - News

by VGChartz Staff , posted on 02 June 2009 / 2,949 Views

Original post at Popzara Blogs:

Hardly a surprise, Capcom does confirm that one of the most iffy rumors of the year is actually happening for US Wii owners, as Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars is headed to North America sometime this Winter!  As expected, one character has been removed (who could it be), but adds a whopping five more (and who could they be?) to the roster, bringing the total up to an impressive 26.  Also worth noting is that the game will remain exclusive to the Wii, and not migrate to other gaming consoles.

Also to look for is online play for worldwide matches, Ranked/Friend/Battle modes, mini-games, 'enhanced' (i.e. dumbed-down) control, as well as Classic and Gamecube controller options.  Check out the original game impression right HERE, or scroll below for all the details on a game we thought we'd never see stateside, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars!

Features:

*  26 fan-favorite characters from the Tatsunoko and Capcom universes face-off in this stylish 2D fighter

*  Tag-team battles and customized two-character fighting techniques produce a wild, dazzling spectacle

*  Wi-Fi Online gameplay allows worldwide matches

*  Four battle modes include Friend, Rival, Free and Ranked Battles

*  Match-ups are not restricted to just “Friends”

*  Earn Points and Titles (for Title Creation) for all to see

*  All-new VS gameplay mechanics creates a new way for fans to return to the series

*  More than 20 Mini-game provide additional multiplayer fun

*  Enhanced control schemes offer a simplified control scheme option and allow use of the Classic Controller and Gamecube Controller

i played this game (i have datel's freeloader for imports) and i gotta say it's a very good game.

even though i didn't understand a word of japanese i still enjoyed the 2 player mode (it's all i could figure out from the menu, lol). the game is a lot like street fighter, same 2D, same gameplay mostly (which is a good thing)

but these new features make me wanna buy the improved version (anyone want a japanese version? lol). I mean online? new characters? new minigames? count me in! (again, lol)

and i gotta say, i LOVE the way the game looks. the animation's great too. some of the characters i've never seen before but mostly they're a lot of fun to play. it's kinda like the Wii's own version of SF: 4 :)

should we expect a good advertisement campaign for this one? after all, Tatsunoko isn't really a popular "brand". I used to watch G-Force (not in US, Brazil), but it took me some time when I saw the first screens to realize that I KNEW what it was.

The original had 22 characters I believe so 4 new characters and online means just another to preorder for the wii. I have like 7 games preordered at just waiting for them torelease.
