Gameplay & Images for Cancelled Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion PSP Title Surface - News

by Jared Katz , posted on 17 May 2016 / 7,057 Views

Gameplay videos and images showing off playable builds of the now-cancelled The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion title that was announced for the PSP years ago appeared today.

The videos were swiftly removed at Zenimax's insistence but you can get a feel for how the game would have looked in the image below:

Unlike The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for consoles, the portable spin-off was not expected to feature an open world. Instead, players would start off in a HUB world and would then travel to different closed-off locations via Oblivion Gates.

The game looks mostly finished. Why not finishing it and releasing it for the 3DS, Vita or mobile?

What a shame this wasn't finished and released on the Vita.

It was a difficult task with the competition from "free" smartphone games but it's sad to know that with better sales Vita would've most likely received games like The Elder Scrolls, Bioshock, Gran Turismo, etc.

I know it's all about different tastes but sometimes it's like the young generation is taught to love a specific kind of games, movies, music, etc. The kind that has a huge profit margin due to it being really easy, quick and cheap to produce.

Maybe I'm getting old. Lol. But imo the most popular entertainment today is just soulless.

Luckily there's still quality to find in many console/PC games and some movies and modern music. Hopefully that'll continue.

If they released a TES game on Vita, I'd play the crap out of it - even a Morrowind port would be ace. In other case, meh.

Deep sadness that this never came to completion :( looks like it would have been an awesome PSP game.

When you consider that the PSP didn't get it's version of Elder Scrolls Travels.... But the N-Gage did, wonder if the sales of that system sealed this games faith.
