How do people say the PS3 struggled? ? Ithe was ahead of the 360 in the same amount of time.

Also lets factor in that first year 360 had no competition, whereas the PS3 had to deal with the 360 and the super Wii

It should be noted that the 360 had shortage.

So basically the PS3 sold as much as the Xbox One in the same time window? And that coming in the whole Europe six months later. Not just the smaller Countries.

It's overtracked by 500k I guess well Sony has to anounce 25 million sooner or later at that time we will know by how many units it is overtracked.

Look at those two beasties staring at each other. They want to touch but have no arms, and the controllers are disconnected :(

I know that i will be eaten alive, and i will have some like 10 dislike if not more.
That said. PS4 is at 99% overtracked in Europe.
Is overtracked since February ( by >300k ) because we have 20.54m in VGC, when Sony confirmed 20.2m.
And by February, seem that the overtracked is even increase.
Now, according to VGChartz, recently the PS4 in Europe is selling 80% more than in the US.
...how? Yes, PS4 in Europe is selling more, but 80% more!?
Just for example. The last official lifetime sales make PS4 at 20.2m WW and 7.25m in the US, so, around 36% of PS4 market is in the US.
And, we have 35k in the US last week, but 143k globally...!!!... that's mean the US sales are 25%, and is SERIUSLY too low.

But that's ok, we will see soon if PS4 is overtracked or not, thanks the Sony result for the quarter.

@VGPolyglot I think Ryng means 99% as in 'almost definitely'.

I agree on overtracked, but don't forget Xone sells good in US and crap in Europe compared to 360. Sony has over 70%marketshare according to it's European president. It should outsell US dramaticaly since Europe is almost as big as US in therms of market.

But indeed i said that in Europe is selling more. Just... not so much more.

well it's obvious xb1 lifetime percentage is sligthly lower then the monthly one. Xbox had a really good launch and an incredibly good second holiday in the US. In my opinion that explains the worldwide 11% difference beetween lifetime and the sales in q1 2015.

To make it simple: Xbox and PS percentage both in the us and ww are flawed by the extremely good sales xbox has in q4 mostly in the us, that affects the rest of the year and lt sales, so you can't compare total sales to q1-q3 sales.

I think it's accurate, Sony confirmed themselves that in Europe they had at least 70% market share in each country, and lots were above 90%.

Sony confirmed at E3 that they've sold over 24 million units, WW. If that helps.

Ryng Ryng (on 06 July 2015)

Sony NEVER said this, one man said "more than 24m sold", that's all.
Source for said it was a Sony man, and that he's talk about PS4?
