Electronic Arts has announced that FIFA 13 is the biggest video game launch in 2012 with more than 4.5 million units sold in five days. The game was also the number one selling game in at least 40 countries. The game also sold 1.23 million units in its first 48 hours in the UK, making it just the fourth game, and first non-Call of Duty title, in the UK to sell one million or more units during its launch.

FIFA 13 is also setting other records for Electronic Arts. On September 30 800,000 people played the game online making it the "busiest day for online gaming for a single title in EA history."

"FIFA Soccer 13 is a critical and commercial success unprecedented in sports entertainment," said Andrew Wilson, Executive Vice President of EA SPORTS. "Every minute of every day millions of fans around the world are experiencing what the critics have already said — FIFA Soccer 13 is the biggest and best sports game we have ever created."

FIFA 13 is available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation Vita, 3DS, PSP, PC and PlayStation 2. The game will be released for the Wii U on November 18.
