Also - will Castlevania be flopping? 5 weeks to release, I don't even see the 360 version on here!
Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Halo CE's campaign was ridiculously good.
Halo CE>>>almost any other FPS out...An I laugh at people who think a racing game on sell big or push consoles LMFAO...An another thing I dont like Activision nor Blizzard forget them & their games
"It just sucks that the campaigns are very mediocre because personally thats what I look forward too in a game over multiplayer."
Lool... U think this is Killzone ?? A mindless shooter without history ?? Dude this is Halo is anything is good as heel is the campaign. Halo CE SP >>> Every other FPS out there.
@tbone mw2 mutiplatform yea but lets see if reach can top it ;)
Personally i don´t think any other game will sell more than Mw2 did in its first week.
lots of FPS in the top... hope man furismo five gets better numbers next week!
The H:R vs. COD:MW2 comparison is funny. How can you compare an exclusive to a multiplat? It's obvious that if MW2 was exclusive to 360, it would've sold A LOT more on that format. If Reach was multiplat, it would sell less on 360(but more overall). As you can see, comparing the two is.....well.....a reach. MW2 is still king, whether it's 360 version outsells Reach or not.
@Imaginedvl - THe reviews don't necessarily reflect the campaign mode. The problem with Halo is that it's purely based on how great the multiplayer is and that is what sells the game if anything. It just sucks that the campaigns are very mediocre because personally thats what I look forward too in a game over multiplayer.
@ Miss piggy
GT5 will pick up when Sony's marketing department get off their arses and actually start getting something going.
True, it's 9 weeks out, but this is the first GT on the PS3. This is a game they want to make a particularly big splash. If they aren't starting to do things by the 8 week mark, around the same time a lot of high profile games start advertising, then they're just losing their opportunities.
I thought GT5 would accelerate,anycase 9 weeks is not so a long time for those who are waiting from years...
@I like Bacon,
Yes same here... I already made my preorders hopefully will see them soon rather than later...
@rf40928
It's clunky because people move like that, we aren't perfect machines, and neither are Spartans.
I already bought my limited edition of Reach, and I am also, hopefully getting Black Ops. but to say that Black Ops doesn't have a good campaign or story line is to say that Avatar sucked. I mean, you actually kill civilians, willingly. You actually DIE. Like poof, dead, gone. Now, I am happy that bungie brings in death to their final game, but come on! over 10,000 Spartans died, and we only get to see 5 of them die? (yes, because one of them live, already been stated).
Halo isn't a new idea, it is borrowed from years upon years of literature.
I'm not saying either one is better, but to say one is better than the other is to take on a claim as big as saying PS3 is better than the 360.
wow! Pokemon Black and white already? Still no Kirby's Epic Yarn, Wii Party, or Donkey Kong Country Returns, I added 1 to wii party and kirby over this period though, and will pre-order DKCR when I pick up kirby. I hope Kirby makes it on the list next week.
People need to stop pre-ordering Black Ops.
@Nirvana_Nut85
Multiplayer is actually what is selling Halo. Still, the campaigns are very good for a lot of people if you look at the reviews and/or sales.
Now, If you ask me, games like GTA, RedDeadRedemption or even all Final Fantasy are meh to me to me and it does not look like my oppinion represents the majority of gamers so do not be suprised :)
It's really disturbs me that Halo can get that many pre-orders/sales on multiplayer alone when, in general the campaign's are very mediocre. Reach is pretty meh so far (Only a couple hours in)
I also want to add that advertising arround Halo: Reach is simply awesome. Microsoft/Bungie clearly deserves this success if you ask me :)
Maybe Sony can take a quick look at it while advertising GT5, I know it is not an FPS and I do not expect it to sell as well as Reach or CoD but at least having Sony doing a real makerting campaign arround it would help a bit.
@TheFlyingDutchman : "This comparison is just ridiculous."
So much hate is ridiculous imo. Halo Reach is actually beating a very nice record, stop hating because it is from Microsoft/360 exclusive; this is a very nice achievement.
The comparison is pretty fair, it is like saying that a majority of people who bought it on PS3 would rather buy a 360 to play it... Of course a certain number of people already own a 360 and a PS3 (and so we add them to the potential people who can pre-order) but then we can easily argue that the pre-order success of COD6 (on both HD consoles) is because the game was actually "multiplatform" so PS3 owners wanted to play its successor...
No Support Halo:Reach on becoming the biggest opening for a game ever!!!
I think Black-ops pre-orders will dip under the MW2 pre-order line at the 3 weeks to launch mark.
Reach gonna open bigger than MW2 on 360 in Americas no doubt, but worldwide? Halo 3's EMEAA opening was 32% of America's. I expect it will be about the same for Reach.
the top 10 most preordered games in America according to this are just first person shooters and western oriented rpgs except gt5 and ffxiv online. that really don't surprise me and i don't want those games except gt5. I've had enough fps for this year already I'll wait until kz3 comes out. I'm buying more niche Japanese games they need more support.
@ Trunkswd:
Comparing Halo to all the versions of MW2 isn't fair, but comparing an exclusive with a multiplatform game minus all platforms but one is?
As I said before: comparing apples with oranges!
A 360-exclusive would mean that more gamers would buy that game just for the 360, multiplatforms spreas the sales but end up with a higher total.
@TheFlyingDutchman
Nothing beats Halo on the 360, thats blasphemy :D
Who decided to compare Halo: Reach (360-exclusive) with COD:MW2 (Multiplatform)?
If COD:MW2 had been a 360-exclusive then it would've sold more then Halo:Reach will be doing right now for sure.
It's like comparing apples to oranges.
You compare 2 exclusives (enough Halo's to compare) or you sum up all the numbers from each platform when comparing to a multiplatform.
This comparison is just ridiculous.
