VGChartz March Review Round-up
by Craig Snow, posted on 01 April 2010 / 1,949 ViewsNews:
Two pieces of VGC review news this month. First up, this month we crossed the '500 reviews posted' mark. It took the site almost two years to get there, although the rate of review postings has obviously shot up massively since we first started, so we'll no doubt reach the 1,000 mark much, much more quickly.
The second piece of news relates to our new recruitment drive, specifically for reviewers. If you're interested in reviewing for VGC then check out this thread here. We're currently in need of US-based 360, Wii, PSP and DS reviewers to help share the burden(!) of review copies. Read the first post in that thread for more information, and if you have any questions feel free to post them there. There's still time to get a review in to us, but not much, so be quick if you want your application to be considered.
Game(s) of the Month:
This month we had a runaway winner for game of the month. It was of course God of War 3, our joint 5th highest rated game. We also had one other title that managed to break the 9.0 barrier though...
God of War III (PS3) - 9.4
"God of War III is fantastic. It is an amazing experience: exhilarating gameplay is tied together with a fascinating story and mind-blowing graphics. I would say that it’s the best in the trilogy by quite a long way, and among the highest quality games on the PS3, and it brings said trilogy to a close with a bang ... if you found any semblance of enjoyment in its predecessors, this is a game which must be played."
Final Fantasy XIII (360/PS3) - 9.0
"You won't find a wide open world like you would in Fallout 3 or a BioWare RPG, but you'll find a fantastic, timeless story with more intense combat than most RPGs can dream of. If you favor exploration and choices over narrative, look elsewhere. For JRPG fans: Final Fantasy XIII is epic in scale, filled with vibrant characters, and challenging from start to finish. A surefire game of the year contender."
