Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch 1 to Officially Launch in Indonesia in December 2026 - News

Nintendo announced it is officially entering the Indonesian market in December 2026 with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
The price for either console was not announced by Nintendo. However, it should be revealed by the time it launches later this year.
The Pokemon Company and Nintendo did reveal a number of Pokémon games will be available at launch for the two consoles. This includes Pokémon Scarlet / Violet, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Pokémon Pokopia, and Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu / Eevee. Pokémon Winds / Waves is also said to be launching in Indonesia the same day as the rest of the world.
Salim Group will be the official distributor of Nintendo products in Indonesia. The Nintendo eShop will launch at a later date.

There are reports Nintendo will also work to launch the Nintendo Switch in India in February or March 2027 for around Rs 20,000 ($208 USD). Redington is likely the distribution partner.
It should be noted the Nintendo Switch has been available to purchase in countries it never officially released in via the grey market.

Pricing will be key. At least Nintendo won't have to deal with any tariff shenanigans there like in the US, but unfortunately the RAM/NAND shortage affects all. If Switch is like $400 and Switch 2 is $450, well, I can't see a lot of people opting for the 7+ year old console then haha. But every extra sale helps!
I think the Switch 1 price will be fine since it uses only 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM, so it's not as impacted as a lot of other devices.

With the Switch 1 launching in India and Indonesia officially it is clear that Nintendo plans to keep the console around for a while
I wonder if the Indonesia Launch will affect the 2027 forecast or this launch was already in their numbers.
It was already in the forcast. it wouldn't make any sense if it wasn't.
(1) Probably already factored into the `numbers. (2) Any cumulative impact will likely be negative than positive, because in 2027 Nintendo will lose the entire European market. Indonesia will not be sufficient to overcome this negative impact.

Presumably this just means “in local shops with a local distributor ”… …because you can just get it delivered by Amazon.
