Google announced it will host the first Stadia Connect presentation on June 6 at 9am PT / 12pm ET. You can view it live on YouTube. The presentation will reveal the price, games and launch details for the platform.

"Stadia is a game-streaming service that will work on any screen including desktop and laptop PC's, phones, tablets and televisions," reads a news post from VGChartz. "It will offer 4k gaming at 60fps with a future update promising up to 8k gaming (subject to internet connections) and a comparison with existing hardware made during the presentation noted that Stadia has 10.7 teraflops of processing power, compared to 4.2 on the PS4 Pro and 6.0 on the Xbox One X.

"Also unveiled was a new controller (although the service will be compatible with other existing controllers), along with a 'capture' button and compatibility with Google Assistant and YouTube (the latter including a 'Play Now' button that would allow people watching a video to instantly begin playing the game in question)."

Still not interested in a platform where I don't own my games regardless of how powerful it is. Plus seeing how google handles its mobile store I don't think many interesting titles would appear on Stadia.

There are dozens of thousands that don't give a shit about consoles, play on mobile devices and have fast internet. It will primarily attact them.

@CuCabeludo You're probably right. There will be plenty of people who buy into this. I won't be one of them though.

Is that the controller? It's like an amalgamation of everyone else's controller.

Very true. Is Sony the only big player that uses different symbols/letters for the buttons on the right? I just realized that Nintendo, Xbox, Sega and now Stadia have all been using A,B,X,Y (C&Z for Sega). Never really noticed until now lol

Makes for an easy transition.

@V-r0cK Not only that, sticks are like Dualshock position with a round 'on' button between it, the ABXY is the same as Xbox exactly and look at the 'menu' buttons, they are just like the Switch Pro controller position. Kinda weird but make sense. :P

For some reason, the positions of A/B and X/Y on Nintendo and Xbox controllers are flipped (I'm guessing it's to make them different enough to avoid being sued), which can be pretty confusing when you switch between them.

Googles algorithm just done a search for "controllers people don't bitch about" and basically combined everything together that wasn't the 3 pronged N64 pad.

I am curious to see if the game list has any actual bite to it, I think so far all they have announced is epic and Ubisoft support.

So Streaming doesnt require a GPU at 10TF.. so my guess is the Stadia can also download digital games as well.

What, so they allocate a centralized computer with 10.7 teraflops to run your game, but you have to play it through a compressed, delayed, video stream? With the most MEH controller to show up since the Steam controller? Ok.

Can I use this controller with my Switch?

Considering I've been able to get both my original GC pads and my Xbox 360/PS3 pads working on the Switch I would think you could use that thing on there with an adapter fairly easily.

The X360 > Switch adapter for wired controllers cost me about €10 on Amazon btw, fantastic purchase if you want a cheap way to get more controllers for the Switch for local multiplayer and have a bunch of older systems controllers knocking about still.
