If anyone is wondering why the graphs show weekly data rather than monthly, with just one month of data there would only be a single data point. The graphs will show monthly data next month.

Nintendo and the customers are confident in Switch 2 compared to how Switch was in 2017 coming off of Wii U.

That abundance of supply at launch did wonders for the Switch 2.

Let's see how the momentum keeps up long term, but that's already an impressive headstart with 3x the sales rate of the Switch.

Glad for Nintendo. That said, seasonality really makes a difference during that first year: March (NS1) and June (NS2) will have different impacts on sales.

Looking forward to the first year chart to see how a full 12 month cycle looks.

it has much more to do with the fact that Switch was incredibly supply constrained for a long time after it launched, while Nintendo made sure they had millions of S2's at launch. And also of course Nintendo was coming off the WiiU failure when Switch launched so it took some time for massive interest to grow while for the S2 launch they are coming off arguably the most successful system of all time so there are many millions of people ready to upgrade early on.

There was also bigger hype in Japan for Switch 2 during launch week.
Awareness of launch week was very strong compared to Switch.
