The VGChartz Gap charts are updated monthly and each article focuses on a different gap chart. The charts include comparisons between the 7th generation and 8th generation platforms, as well as comparisons within the 8th generation. All sales are worldwide, unless otherwise stated.

PS4 vs. PS3 and Xbox 360 Global:

Gap change in latest month: 110,537 – PS4

Gap change over last 12 months: 8,615,145 – PS3 and X360

Total Lead: 8,477,485 – PS3 and X360

PlayStation 4 Sales: 59,182,721

Total Combined PS3 and Xbox 360 Sales: 67,660,206

The gap grew in favor of the PlayStation 4 when compared to the combined sales of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 during the same timeframe by 110,537 units in the last month. The PS3 and Xbox 360 increase its lead over the PS4 by 8.62 million units in the last 12 months. The PlayStation 4 is behind by 8.48 million units.

The PlayStation 4 in its first 43 months sold 59.18 million units, while the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 have sold a combined 67.66 million units.

It would have to sell over 170 million to win this, which it's obviously not going to do. The fact that it's keeping up so well though is pretty amazing.

PS4 is undertracked and still won this month, pretty amazing considering the PS360 has start picking up steam.
