Horizon: Zero Dawn beat out The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to the top spot of the UK charts, according to Chart-Track for the week ending March 4. Horizon: Zero Dawn did release on March 1, while The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild released on March 3.

78 percent of Breath of the Wild sales were on the Switch, while 22 percent were on the Wii U. The Switch version is the third biggest Zelda launch behind Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. It also accounted for 75 percent of the Switch software sold for the week. 1-2 Switch debuted in fourth, while Super Bomberman R debuted in seventh.

Here are the top 10 best-selling titles (combined sales) for the week:

  4. 1-2 Switch 
  5. For Honor 
  6. FIFA 17
  7. Super Bomberman R 
  8. Rocket League 
  9. Sniper Elite 4
  10. Battlefield 1

Outstanding game (HZD) completely deserved. I can't remember having so much fun with combat and the world is just stunning. I can play this for hours.

As much as HZD is a great game, it is highly unlikely that it was ever going to not top the charts. If you work out the figures for Zelda, based on the 80k Switch's sold in the UK, you can find that it sold 77k across the two platforms. This was always going to be dwarfed by a PS4 exclusive... what concerns me is how low these sales volumes are :O

Horizon Zero Dawn sold more copies to the ~60,000,000 PS4 owners than Zelda did to the 200,000 new Switch owners? That is amazing!!!

Don't try to understate it just because of that. If it wasn't a good game, it would have lost regardless of install base.

You have a very valid point! We can work out from Zelda's sales figures that it sold more than 77k. I wonder how much more though!
