Nintendo Closing Down the DSi Shop Next Year - News

by Jared Katz , posted on 31 March 2016 / 4,198 Views

Nintendo of Europe has published a notice informing customers that the DSi Shop will be closing down in 2017.

The process of shutting down the digital storefront will begin on September 30th, 2016, which will be the final date that users are able to add Nintendo DSi points to their accounts. From March 31st, 2017, customers will no longer be able to buy games from the DSi Shop and any points left on the account after this date are non-refundable.

It's currently unknown precisely when Nintendo will prevent customers from re-downloading games that have already purchased from the DSi Shop.
