The Wii tried to grow gaming. The Ps4 only tried to destroy the competition and retain its user base. So this is not surprising.

Yeah, the gap will only grow for a long, long time.

300,000 units is quite a lot. Wait two months for the holiday.

Why are Wii's numbers through its 24th month (through October 2008) while the PS4 number is only through its 23rd month (September 2015)?

What are you talking about? The article clearly states that all the data for both systems are through their 23rd month.

I thought I had replied to you earlier explaining that I double checked the numbers by looking in the old weekly charts and that's how I saw the wii had an extra month of numbers. I had been off the last few months so I checked it again this month, glad to see the error has been found and corrected now.

Well, it's a good thing you double checked.

The line will continue to go down for the rest of 2015.
Than by next year, especially around late Spring-early Summer, it'll start going back up.

Wii sold 21 million in its 3rd year. It will only go down around 2017. This is assuming Nintendo does not release the NX 2017. Otherwise Sony will have to release PS5 in 2018.

So... you expect PS4 sales to double next year?

No, I don't expect PS4 sales to double.
I mean, look at the PS4's lineup next year.
Uncharted 4, Final Fantasy XV, The Last Guardian, No Man's Sky, it has CoD in it's back pocket now.
Next year is looking like it's peak year, where it's going to do monster numbers. It'll finish slightly to exceptionally higher than what the Wii did in 2009.
