Monster Hunter Stories Announced for 3DS - News

Capcom has announced a new ‘spin-off’ for its popular Monster Hunter franchise, Monster Hunter Stories.

This new game will be coming to the 3DS and will be released in 2016 in Japan. MHS will be a RPG (what type of RPG is still unknown) and it will have a distinctly different art style compared to the mainline games.

Cool. Good it is an RPG. And I thought for some time that Monster Hunter would be really cool in cel-shaded look. Hope it comes to europe.

would be cool but wouldn't make financial sense. This was a good idea, the series needs to be changed up a bit even if it is just a spinoff.

Eh... I don't think it would suit the market Capcom aims for with Monster Hunter. Monster Hunter Tri for Wii might be the best selling MH title for America, but in Japan it comes 7th even though it is the highest ranked home console entry in the series.
