UPDATE: Epic Mickey Developer Closing Down

UPDATE: Epic Mickey Developer Closing Down - News

Junction Point, the studio headed by Warren Spector and which made both the original Epic Mickey (read our review here) and its sequel, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two (read the review here), may possibly be about to close its doors, if rumours doing the rounds are to be believed.

The original Epic Mickey was fairly warmly received, though not resoundingly so, but the more recent sequel was largely panned by critics and, it seems, shunned by consumers too.

Though it doesn't look good for Junction Point, we need to be clear that as yet nothing has been confirmed. VG247 are reporting that 3D Realms' George Broussard tweeted the following:

"The Junction Point rumors have been circulating a while. Warning signs when you give employees 2 months off after shipping."

But the tweet that kicked off this latest round of rumours, from Robert Space Industries (the official Twitter account of the Kickstarter-funded game Star Citizen), cites as its source an article on the site mynintendonews, which features a broken link as its source (still keeping up with us?).

In short, rumours seem to have been doing the rounds in developer circles for some time, but the original foundations for this latest rumour seem shaky at best.

UPDATE: Disney has officially shut down Junction Point, according to Joystiq.
