Rumour: Microsoft and EA Secure some sort of Exclusivity Deal - News
by Craig S , posted on 27 February 2013 / 3,683 ViewsRumours are suggesting some sort of next-gen exclusivity deal between Microsoft and EA which will be revealed at Microsoft's upcoming 'Next Xbox' event. CVG are reporting that they've received confirmation from two separate sources that EA and Microsoft have secured a partnership with one another.
Non-Xbox gamers needn't be too worried though, it seems, as CVG go on to heavily qualify their story:
"It is likely that such a partnership will not extend beyond exclusive downloadable content, or staggered release dates. An outright exclusive EA game on the Next Xbox would be unlikely, and certainly a major coup for Microsoft if such a deal were to be secured."
It also seems that neither source actually works for EA or Microsoft (um, ok?).
Of course exclusive DLC wouldn't be a massive surprise - Sony managed to secure just such a deal with Bungie's Destiny, and this generation Microsoft have managed to bag similar deals for Call of Duty DLC. Nonetheless, EA's absence from the PlayStation 4 reveal has certainly heightened the speculation. I guess we'll find out what the fuss is all about in April.
