UPDATE: Rumour: The Last of Us Coming to PS4 - News
by VGChartz Staff , posted on 28 March 2014 / 4,108 ViewsUPDATE: Polygon reached out to Sony and received a simple reply: "At no time have we announced that The Last of Us is coming to PS4 and therefore, have nothing to say on the subject."
Original Story:
PlayStation's Eurasian Software Market Manager, Sercan Sulun, has said that PlayStation 3's critically-acclaimed action-adventure game The Last of Us will be coming to PlayStation 4 this summer. Speaking with a Turkish CNN segment titled Multiplayer, Sulun stated:
"There is no information about a new The Last of Us game but I can share this knowledge; as of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4. Both on PSN and physically. The PS4 version will also include the DLC so you will be able to play Left Behind as well."
A port to Sony's new console would mean enchanced graphics, and perhaps a refreshed control scheme with the DualShock 4. We highly enjoyed both the main campaign and its story driven DLC when it first hit PS3, and a PS4 release would likely be even better.
An official response has not been made by Sony, which makes us question the validity of the statement. Though with great sales (over 6 million including digital copies), and a dedicated fanbase, it would not be an untirely unexpected decision to port the game to the new platform.
