Tomb Raider Reboot Shifts 8.5 Million Copies - News
by Craig S , posted on 06 April 2015 / 16,168 ViewsSquare Enix has revealed updated sales figures for its Tomb Raider reboot, the 2013 self-titled Tomb Raider:
"Square Enix has announced that the Tomb Raider reboot originally released in 2013 has claimed a third franchise record. The title already sold more on its first day and in its first month than any other game in the series. Now it owns the top sales spot overall, too.
This morning, the publisher shared that 8.5 million copies of the reboot have been sold across all five of the platforms it was released on."

This is quite a turn-around - the game was initially described by Square Enix as a commercial failure back in 2013.
A sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider is due to release on Xbox One and Xbox 360 later this year.

Great sales for a truly great game!
Awesome sales. It's a shame that most of those sales won't be translating to the sequel.
Love this game!
Got this game for the PS4 and loved it, shame I'm going to have to wait longer for the sequel given I have a PS4 though.
Played it on both my PS3 and PS4 and loved it. If it reviews decently, i'll play the new one after the Xboxers test it out for us Playstation owners.
I've returned from the future, the port of RTR to PC and PS4 was announced on 1 January 2016.
