Xbox One vs Wii U – VGChartz Gap Charts – February 2014 Update

XOne Vs. Wii U Global:

Gap change in latest month: 65,733 – XOne

Gap change over last 12 months: n/a

Total Lead: 2,192,570 – Wii U

Xbox One Total Sales: 3,612,376

Wii U Total Sales: 5,804,946

In the fourth month on sale the Xbox One closed the gap between it and the Wii U shrunk by another 65,733. The Wii U currently leads by 2,192,570 units. The Xbox One needs to average 219,257 units per month more than the Wii U to pass it by the end of the year.

The Xbox One launched in North America and Europe on November 22. The Wii U launched in November 2012. The Wii U has sold 5,804,946 units to date, while the Xbox One has sold 3,612,376 units.

65k is nothing, I wonder which will sell more weekly after both Titanfall and Mario Kart release. I'm betting on WiiU.

True story... for me it is not excluded that the Wii U sell more to the end of gen, and if it will not happen, XO not exceed of much

When xbox one will get a 100 dollars price cut worldwide it will outsell wii u easely

The $100 price cut probably wont happen until producing the Xbox One costs $100 less or when they finally take Kinect out of the bundle

The gap is different if you consider NPD numbers. Though I think NPD has X1 overtracked in the US. Collective anecdotes inform us that there were far more X1s on the shelves in NA than PS4s. I think the actual number probably rests between the VGC and NPD numbers. That still puts X1 ahead with the lead for the month though. The next 3 months should be interesting!

Yeah, and if Nintendo can turn it around, with the head start of Wii U to X1, we could see something similar to X360 vs. PS3. Where X1 might pass the Wii U at the end of the generation, or not at all.
