TIL that the Vita was ahead of the PSP at one point.

BTW good article! I was worried about WiiU after your WiiU gap, but after seeing Vita I can see it's not the only system to struggle. Save 3DS for after Pokemon if possible.

PSP had Grand Theft Auto, and good JRPG's only a couple years after launch. PSV consistantly only has 1 or 2 good exclusives planned, and they rarely target the Japanese Audience. Plus no Monster Hunter.

Monster Hunter wasn't a big PSP series until 2008 or so, so mentioning its influence on the PSP's early life is a bit silly.

However MH being at Nintendo instead of Sony is hurting the PSV brand real badly.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 3DS is tracking behind the PSP too.

I'm pretty sure the 3DS is ahead. That said, its been a bad gen for handheld sales in general. This surprises me, considering how the rise of the PC after 1995 or so didn't really hurt the console market, in contrast to the mobile devices.
