Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House announced at Sony's Gamescom press conference the release date of its next generation console the PlayStation 4. The system will be hitting store shelves on November 15, 2013 in North America and November 29, 2013 in Europe.
With the hype generated at E3 two months ago, there have been more than one million pre-orders worldwide for the PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4 will also launch in 32 countries.
House also announced that gamers who purchase the PlayStation 3 version of certain games will be able to purchase the PlayStation 4 of the game at "a significantly discounted price." Confirmed games are Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts.
