Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed III has become the fastest selling game in its history, by selling more than seven million units in its first month. The game sold three million units in its opening week according to VGChartz internal data.

"We are delighted with the performance of Assassin's Creed III this Christmas," said Rob Cooper, Ubisoft's UK managing director. "This is a beautiful and epic game of exceptional quality and we're pleased that our fans have responded so well to the brand new universe, storyline and game experience."

Ubisoft has also let it known that players have racked up 82 centuries in playing time in the solo missions, as well as more than three billion assassinations.
