by William D'Angelo , posted on 12 November 2012 / 7,718 Views

The indie hit Minecraft has passed eight million sold on the PC. This is just two months after the game reached seven million sold on the PC. The game has sold more than 12 million units with all of the versions combined. It is also available for the Xbox 360 and for the Android and iPhone.

"The PC version of Minecraft just passed 8 million sales! My face is making grinning sounds, so I assume it's grinning!" tweeted Markus 'Notch' Persson.

It was just at the beginning of October when the Xbox 360 version of the game crossed the four million mark. This makes it by far the bestselling Xbox Live Arcade game of all time. The game achieved this mark in less five months.

absolutely great sales, love how notch dealt with piracy of his game.... he said it's fine just asked that if people liked it enough and thought it was worth money to buy it, this is DRM that gets you sales :D I heard that it past call of duty recently for the most players online playing this on xbl an amazing feat.

Loving the new 1.4 objects that were brought in. The game never gets boring.
