Top iPhone Game Apps: Angry Birds, AddictingGames - News

Gamasutra has rounded up the top ten best selling paid and free gaming applications on the iTunes App Store as of October 24. Angry Birds takes the top two spots for the paid games. The Halloween themed updated has boosted sales for Angry Birds Seasons, as well as the original game and the spinoff Angry Birds Rio. Fright Ninja also sees a boost due to the launch of Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots which is at number three. EA's Tetris and ZeptoLab's Cut the Rope: Experiments are both down one spot, as Mountain Sheep's Bike Baron leap frogs them.

Nickelodeon's AddictingGames leads the iPhone free app charts for a second straight week. Ludia's Family Feud & Friends overtakes iNstein College for second place. Creative Mobile's Drag Racing Free has debuted in fourth place.

And these games supposed to kill handheld console gaming? I have nothing against one-buck-timewasters market, but big and serious games will always have their customers and will bring huge money. Opposite direction will be only degradation of handheld gaming, not an evolution.

I don't understand all the panic on it and on other today's industry trends. All will be just fine.
