Satanicsoft at it again, never disclose actual sales numbers, cause it always low!! That goes to all their shitty overrated games.
And fuck all those xbot bitches here defending a satanic corporation, get a life you bunch of brainwashed tools
Is player count the new metric? Do we not measure success by sales, anymore?
Japanese studios tend to be a little more transparent. While western studios only like to talk sales when the numbers are great.
Although, I suspect Forza Horizon 5 has sold mega numbers between Xbox, PC and now Playstation. If a Switch 2 port happens, maybe a few million there too. But MS has been firm with giving player numbers only.
I do believe software sales have declined in recent years. Primarily due to covid ending and a lot of studios have released dog shit.
You ever notice that the top 10 most played games are always the same every month? Because the majority of console gamers are playing black hole live service games. To the point game sales are quickly becoming the minority.
So platforms have had to adapt to how the industry has been going. Only the biggest massive hits are able to penetrate the top 10 on any given platform. And in a world where Netflix, TikTok, etc. are taking just as much time away from traditional games as the biggest live service games are, you quickly see how sales numbers just aren’t enough anymore.
And many laughed when I compared this to Mario Kart 9, and no one gave this a chance to compete on the sales front.
Yeah, not the same when people boot it for 5 seconds on Game Pass and MS counts that as a player. People actually bought MK. I'm one of the 50 million and I played it for 10 minutes then deleted it. MKW will sell 50+ million at 80 bucks.
Also, it's like comparing Elden Ring to GTA 6.
They're both open world games, but the comparisons end there.
So why can't I compare? Because one is on a service?
The point was many claimed FH5 would get eaten up by MK9 and based on the figures, seems to be doing quite well.
So by your metric, are you including all those who brought and refunded, Returned and Bundled Mario Kart 9?
And for the record, I brought both and enjoyed both.
Don't you need 200K+ accolades or something around this number, to get into hall of fame? You don't get this amount after 10 mins of gameplay.
Edit: the 50M player count is based on FH5's hall of fame numbers (as stated by the above article). According to vg247 (https://www.vg247.com/forza-horizon-5-hall-of-fame) it takes around 20 HOURS of gameplay to get there. So to answer your questions: no, "5-second-gamepass-players" aren't included in this figure; neither are you.
If you bought a bundle, you paid like $50 for Mario Kart World.
I also assume Mario Kart 8 had a lot of bundled sales. Its a mega popular series, but I also believe the sales number are inflated.
is forza horizon 5 coming to switch 2?
Highly doubtful
thats to bad
Why?
Nothing announced yet, but since it's a Xbox One game I don't think a port would be too difficult.
Wow so another 5 mil sales from playstation at least it ain't mostly GAMEPASS from that 5 mil right lol
Whats your issue with those who play via GamePass?
You got issues lol
The game is several years old. I would have to assume there is significant market saturation between Xbox and PC. Also, the game is regularly still a high price. So it may not have been cheap enough for many to buy it just yet.
