Publisher Kepler Interactive and developer Ebb Software have officially released the first-person horror adventure game, Scorn, for the Xbox Series X|S, PC via SteamEpic Games Store, and GOG, and Xbox Game Pass.

View the launch trailer below:

Read details on the game below:

Scorn takes players into an isolated, strange, dream-like world. Left unguided to fend for themselves, players must explore Scorn’s interconnected bio-labyrinth, learning its rules and mastering grotesque puzzles along the way as they come to understand their own predicament

By uncovering secrets and gathering the strange bio-mechanical tools that seem to have been used by the civilization that previously called this world home, surviving might just be possible. Finding the truth, however, is an entirely different question.

14 Comments. None about the actual game. A little surprising.
I haven't played the game. Not my kind.
Someone I followed on twitter played it. Absolutely hated it. So I came in here expecting to read comments talking about their experience with it.
Guess not.

Doesn't help that the first comment was strictly console warring.

I'm cautiously optimistic about how I'll feel about it. Looks to be the definitive marmite game of 2022.

Same. I'll give it a try. Seems to be a love it or hate it kind of game.

Ya all know who is the best Sony fan on this site?, is CassicWizz, that guy never changes his opinon to try fitting in and shit like that, he admits his a fan and thats it, he doesnt try acting netual just to be a mod in his dreams like some of the Sony fans we have here who try actzing all netraul and yet in the comments let ther true feelings out. he is consistant and thats why i like him and if any Sony fan here became a mod it should be him. Even if he always down votes me a 100x times a day and would ban me the minute he did.. At least he is constant and he isnt two faced or pretending to be something he isnt. this drink is to you Whizz!!.

Seeing lots of mixed reviews, but since it's on gamepass I might check it out.

I thought it was always meant to go to Playstation. I thought it was just a gamepass date and date so fans claimed its basically an Xbox game.

Nobody said that. Sony does console exclusives with publishers, Xbox does it with only independent developers since Tomb Raider. To each their own though.

Xbox does the same with publishers too, no need to move the goal posts to indy devs. MS is just as close to Sega as we have seen Phantasy Star Online 2 exclusive for over 2 years for them, timed exclusive next gen version Yakuza Like a dragon and just yesterday it was announced that Persona 3 and 4 next gen ports are Series S/X only. Something MS surely paid for.

Those aren't the same as Sony's timed hat deals and you know it, stop being disingenuous.

-Phantasy Star Online 2 was a game that Sega talked about bringing west from 2012 to 2013, with a later leak stating that the western release was indeed cancelled by Sega in 2013. The game never released in the west after years of waiting and in 2017 Sega removed the English version of the Phantasy Star Online 2 website, confirming earlier speculation that the western release had been cancelled. It is heavily speculated that at some point between 2017 and 2019, Xbox paid Sega to get a western release and a port of the game. If that is true, it is a game that would never have been released on PC or PS4 in the west unless Xbox convinced Sega to use Xbox as a western release trial run of the viability of the game in the west, as the western release plans had been cancelled by Sega years before it released on Xbox. I can assure you there was no paid timed deal, if there had been one, the game would have released on platforms other than Xbox exactly a year later, but instead it came to other platforms a year and 2-3 months later. If there had been a timed hat deal, it also would have released on Xbox in Japan, but instead it only released on Xbox in the west.

-Yakuza 7 was on Xbox Series for 4 months before Playstation because Rya Ga Gotoku Studio only had the resources for one extra platform and Xbox already had a Gamepass deal with them so they chose to do Xbox Series before PS5. There was no timed hat deal, it just took RGG Studio 4 months to develop the PS5 port. You honestly think that Xbox wouldn't have blocked a release on PS4 as well if it was a timed hat deal, or that Xbox wouldn't have paid for 4 months from the later Japan release rather than 4 months from the earlier western release? It just doesn't make sense. 4 months is totally random number for a timed hat deal anyway, those are almost always done in 6 month or 1 year increments. In fact it wasn't even 4 months, it released on PS5 1 week before a full 4 months had passed. It was clearly just how long it took them to finish, bug test, and pass certification on the PS5 port, not a timed hat deal.

-Xbox very likely had to pay to get the Persona games ported to Xbox at all since the series had skipped Xbox for years, of course if Xbox was already paying they were going to make sure what they were paying for was a native version for their current system, rather than a version trapped at a lower resolution by dated Xbox One hardware. I'm 99% sure that Xbox didn't pay Sega to not release PS5 versions of those games, they just paid to get a native Xbox Series version while Sony seemingly didn't pay to get a native PS5 version.

There is a difference between paying to get a game released and blocking a game from releasing on another system.

But the game is more accessible now

For Scorn? We are talking about deals with publishers. Now a game like Scorn, sure Xbox is making it a timed exclusive for like 3 months. It's also more accessible since GP members can go download it right now.

Yeah, Microsoft only buys out publishers, so no biggie.

MS has the money so might as well use it. If Sony does the same thing, then good. I would rather see them get a publisher than a handful of other corporations out there. Consolidation is happening one way or another.

Game aint all that so i doubt anyone is really hurting, it'll be like the medium and will release on PS5 in a few month and no one would even give a shit.
