This monthly series compares the aligned sales of the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox 360 in Japan, as well as looking at lifetime original Xbox sales and Xbox One sales.
The Xbox Series X|S launched in Japan in November 2020, while the Xbox 360 launched in Japan in December 2005. The original Xbox launched in Japan in February 2002 and the Xbox One in September 2014.

May 2022 is the 19th month the Xbox Series X|S has been available for in Japan. In the latest month, the gap grew in favor of the Xbox Series X|S when compared to the aligned launch of the Xbox 360 by just 1,208 units.
In the last 12 months, the Xbox 360 has grown its lead over the Xbox Series X|S by 99,754 units. The Xbox 360 is currently ahead by 194,742 units.
The Xbox Series X|S has sold 216,986 units in 19 months, while the Xbox 360 sold 411,728 units. Month 19 for the Xbox Series X|S is May 2022 and for the Xbox 360 is June 2007.
The Xbox 360 crossed 500,000 units sold in month 24, one million units in month 40, and 1.5 million units in month 67.
The Xbox Series X|S outsold lifetime Xbox One sales in month 13.

This is great, thank you! Last week I was asking myself if there's a X360 vs. Xbox Series in Japan comparison, because I thought this could be interesting ^^
It's kind of interesting how the Series (particularly the S) has managed to practically double the XBO lifetime sales in its first year and half. And it continues to sell so that number will keep going up. I dont know if it will beat 360 numbers but it certainly has a chance to beat og xb.
What caused the X360 spike in month 13... Was Blue Dragon that big a deal?
Trying to catch up with the 360 is gonna be rough, but it does have a very good shot at being the second Xbox console to cross 1 mil in Japan.
In Japan is different market and I don't think that Series could easily surpass the beauty 360. Looks at the design in banner, it's classy.
