Long legs but the launch of this game was stupid.
Thats low for a franchise such as Street Fighter.Im guessing this game will have legs(and probably Capcom is betting on it) so lets hope it sells better in the long run!
this doesn't count digital sales thought
"compared to 94,944 units sold in Europe (21%). It also sold 42,958 units in Japan (19%)"
Are you sure about those percentages?
For the record, SFIV had great legs because they released 4 versions of it. I personally bought all 4 physical releases. So I question how the legs will do without people buying a new version every couple years.
Considering that content will be added regularly, I am sure its legs will be just fine lol.
Compared to SFIV, I doubt it. SFIV had legs because they kept releasing new versions, fans bought the new versions. I think we are gonna SF isnt as popular as we thought without rereleases.
Well time will tell, but feel that if capcom delivers on the content and support they are saying the game will recieve, SFV will be very successful. Also I do not count the same game being repackaged as a total sales figure. As you said many rebought the game so it says nothing really about legs cinsidering the same thing could have been done with proper support.
I for one would much rather have proper support over having Capcom milk us with different versions of the same game. Had they not botched the release, SFV would already be considered on a much bettet track than 4 due to value. In the ling term that still stands, as of right this min though...not so much.
Sorry for typos...vommenting on phone
I'm not saying I like Capcom milking us. I'm saying that the reason SFIV sales are so high. Fans bought the new releases. If youre an avid fans you own a couple of them.
I agree. I am convinced we will see repackages of the game, though all content will be available in the main game. Not only that but the new versions of SFV would release at retail price, wich would net bigger margins than what will be predictably bargain bin SFV for the next few years. So, if they don't repackage it, they are insane.
meant to say new versions of SFIV.
Nem, I do see this happening. Those of us who got itt early would have the content via dlc, while new players and those that want everything on the disc will be able to buy this repackage as well. I noticed the other day SFV was taken off PSN store...so I feel a rerelease in june when the story drops and a possible arcade mode is imminent.
However this kind of rerelease is not what I am saying won't happen. What we won't see is all the super, ultra, mega, ultima, omega etc versions that SFIV had. More people will have bought and be playing V, but it won't reflect the same way as Puggsly is trying to portray it (which is why I say it is very hard to judge just how strong SFIV legs really are, though we do know they were good).
In a nutshell, I think the SFIV rereleases helped move a few million units between Ps360. There were four releases, that boosted overall sales a lot. That is the primary reason for strong legs. Week 2 for SFV is looking terrible by th way.
Bad first week, considering its worldwide and sales plummeted especially after its problems and scheme was more well known to less informed gamers. Too bad it could be even overestimated.
this doesn't count digital sales though
something tells me that this is overtracked. Which sounds crazy since this franchise is so big.
this doesn't count digital sales though, only retail

Had this game released with a larger host characters t it would have had a great launch!! I am absolutely in love with the gameplay. So responsive!! Like the great Japanese games from the good old days!! I am sure this game is gonna have long legs!!

No surprise its like every Japanese AAA game now underperforms saleswise because most western gamers are biased, They made countless excuses for broken games like Fallout 4 which sold like hot cakes but Street Fighter 5 or Metal Gear Solid 5 they have to sit on a Pedestal
Well both games are different with Fallout 4 coming out as a complete game while SFV came out incomplete despite having beta sessions that Fallout 4 did not. Also one game is about decisions, exploration and being a typical RPG while the other is strictly a game where you only punch people and nothing more, one genre is far more popular than the other, there is no racial bias, just people having different prefs and the fighting genre still not being anywhere as big and as popular as the RPG/JRPG genres.
bearded Ryuu is kinda bae
Pretty depressing numbers. I expect it to have long legs though. Sales should stay steady, especially once they actually start releasing some content :P

Not so bad really!
Not as bad as people thought, especially considering this does not include PC sales. It is a Fantastic fighting game, hopefully Capcom can deliver on the new content coming soon and give it enough depth to truely be worth the 60 bucks.
I can't believe they tried to release it like this and it makes it hard for me to recommend to people who are interested in it without pointing out the obvious lack of content, but I do hope that SFV is successful in the long run. For the fanchise sake, not capcoms.
Nor Digital sales on PS4.
PC sales are around a mere 130K.

Good sales for a bad game.
Dunno why you got some downvotes but have an up from me.

according to steamspy PC sales are around a mere 130K.
sorry for the double post
from what i understand it isn't a timed exclusive, if it was sony would have said something like "play it first on ps4" or something like that.
